  • New England Science and Sailing (NESS): Students participate one afternoon per week in field study that includes sailing, kayaking, snorkeling, hiking, and other adventure learning activities. The New London STEM Leadership program at NESS is designed specifically to foster an interest in science, technology, engineering and math through hands-on integrated learning opportunities. NESS uses sailing, marine science and adventure sports as a catalyst for building teamwork, self-reliance, teaching respect and responsibility for the sea. Students will learn to be safe and comfortable while exploring the local ecosystems at Ocean Beach in New London, CT. For more information, check out a monthly newsletter and flyer!

  • National Society of Black Engineers: Students participate in monthly mentoring meetings that enhance their personal and academic development. Mentors from Electric Boat engage with students to increase interpersonal skills and relationships, character building, successful decision making and exposure to engineering principles.
